Kuttani and Chombu Print

$120.00

In 1991, my newly married mother was gifted this brass Kuttani in Hubli, while visiting her sister-in-law. Since then she has replaced it with a larger stone mortar and pestle, and this one has become more of a cultural memento.

The copper Chombu travelled to Melbourne some years later with my maternal grandfather. He would use it to participate in necessary rituals for his late parents while away from his home altar in Bangalore.

25.5 x 26 cm

Printed using archival quality inks onto Hahnemuhle Fine Art paper.
